Are you worried you might never talk to your ex again never mind want you back because they won't return your calls? Don't be. Directly after a break up, tensions are usually high between couples and it can be understandable if your ex doesn't want to talk to you just yet. But you can get your ex to call you and want you back again, here are 5 tips to remember:

#1 Give them a reason to call.

What is sole purpose of them calling you? If your answer is to ask them back then you might need to rethink this part. If your ex is not ready to get back together, they will avoid you if they know that is all you want. It's best to give them an incentive to call or contact first.



#2 Don't push if they're not ready.

Not allowing enough time for your ex to cool down after a break up is a big mistake. Sometimes it can take up to a few months (depending on how often you spoke in the past) to have them comfortable with talking to you again.

Something to keep in mind are people won't change overnight (even if they appear to), the internal changes we make are usually gradual. So patience is your best friend.

#3 Arouse their curiosity.

Make your ex curious enough that they will 'have' to call you. Leave a note saying you have something exciting to tell them. Be cheerful and upbeat about it and have them wanting more! Of course, never lie, if you say you have exciting news, make sure you DO have news or your ex's trust for you will plummet. If it means going out and making something happen yourself then by all means do so. For example, imagine if you won a million dollars, you think your ex will still be ignoring you then? Not likely right!

#4 Accomplish something you know your ex will be proud of.

We usually share dreams and goals with our partners, often they are just that... dreams. But wouldn't it be great if we accomplished something big and rewarding? Something your ex knew you'd be excited about? Here you can trick your ex into thinking everything is back to normal as if things are fine. Be happy and excited to share your news but if it's too soon after your break up, refer to #2 and wait a while to put this one into full effect.

#5 Use their passions to your advantage

A great way to make your ex to drop their defenses is to ask for help on a matter they know a lot about. The more passionate they are about whatever it is you need help with, the more they'll likely want to talk to you about it. This will work best if you are genuine however, so asking for help about buying motorcycles when your ex knows you hate motorcycles might trigger some suspicion (although that might not be a bad thing entirely).
